Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
"The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog." – Mark Twain
Mark Twain the dog wants to be that dog in your life. He started on his current path in the rescue world, in a scary little shelter in south Texas. As fate would have it, his foster mom had an opening the day he needed to move on.
He was a perfect gentleman from the moment he arrived. He calmly took his bath to wash off the odors of confinement, like a champ. He came inside the house and made quick friends with all the other dogs in his foster home; they range in age from 13 years to 6 months old, weighing 135 to 12 pounds. He never was so rude as to not make it outside to do his business. He is great on a leash, meeting other friendly dogs with ease.
He is enough of a puppy to be a bit of a ham at times but adult enough to know when to chill. He loves, loves long walks and playing with other dogs. Snuggling is one of his most favorite ways to spend down time. Complete an application and arrange a Covid19 safe meet and greet to see if this special puppy is your match.
