Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Hello, my name is Chrissy. I am what my foster mom calls a happy go lucky kind of dog. I am still young and full of life and energy.
I am learning my basics but have crate please and sit down to a T. We are still working on wait and down but am getting pretty good at it, especially with treats, I am very food motivated.
I sleep through the night and am good at home alone during the day as long as I can get a potty break. I do well on leash as long as there are treats involved. I have not gone on a walk yet with my foster mom since I am still so young but we have been practicing leash manners at home.
I am only 6 months old and still very much a puppy so my new family will need to be committed to continuing my training. My foster home has 4 other dogs and I love all of them! I also have a cat living in my house and am good with her, we do not interact much but I am very respectful to her. We have a bunch of chew toys at home which is great because I am a big chewer, but have learned to leave shoes and furniture alone for the most part although my foster mom sometimes has to remind me. I listen very well to direction but sometimes get frazzled so training with me takes patience.
I am full of love and ready for my next adventure. If you'd like to meet me and get puppy kisses please fill out an application.
