FUNDRAISER COORDINATOR
Austin Dog Rescue already has several well-established annual fundraisers and we need a very dedicated and committed person that can assist the Director of Events with a minimum of 3 fundraising/adoption events each year.
With the support, assistances from the Director of Events and the Board of Directors, this person would develop and implement an annual fundraising plan through a wide range of community, web-based and other unique channels.
The Fundraising Manager would work closely with the Director of Events and the Volunteer Coordinator to prepare an annual calendar in order to recruit and schedule our fundraising volunteers who are already engaged with various activities within Austin Dog Rescue. This position could develop into a board position if desired, but not required. Please submit our volunteer application if you are interested in this position.
Desired Experience would include but not be limited to:
- Experience in small to medium range fundraisers or have a strong desire to learn and help homeless animals
- Outgoing, social personality
- Someone who likes to think outside the box
- Creativity and Vision
- Enjoys working as a team but can also work independently and be productive without close supervision
- Accessibility – the ability to respond to emails within 24 hours, M-F (ADR email address provided)
- Ability to attend occasional board meetings (2-3 times a year)
- Graphic Design software knowledge/experience helpful
- Must be willing to sign confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement
We are asked time and time again by those that have adopted from us "how did this wonderful dog end up in a shelter!" It takes the love, care and patience of a foster caregiver to help each dog find their new home. Read more about our foster care program.
TRANSPORT VOLUNTEER
On occassion ADR needs volunteers that are available during regular business hours and on Saturday mornings to help transport dogs from kill-shelters to one of our vets or their foster home. Travel to other surrounding counties or shelters may be required and mileage reimbursement will be offered. Please submit our volunteer application if you are interested in this position.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT VOLUNTEER
The primary responsibility of the Medical Assistant is to enter medical/vet related information into a web-based data base (PET POINT.) This position will be an iatrical part of assuring our dogs receive the highest level of medical care. The Medical Assistant will also keep track when the dogs are due for vaccinations, heartworm treatments and other medical needs. Send reminder emails to the foster caregivers when services are due.
The ideal candidate would be someone who has some basic veterinary experience or is interested in learning more about the medical care our dogs require. The time commitment for this position will vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour per week, with the heaviest time commitment being when there is a multiple intake of animals (3-5 dogs) at the same time. This heavier time frame occurs approximately every other month.

THE SOCIAL DOG PROJECT MANAGER
This program will provide hands on social opportunities for our dog by providing them with occasional outings to explore other environments and interaction with new people.
The primary responsibility of the Social Dog Project Manager will be to match volunteers with foster caregivers and their dogs. The Project manager, with the assistance of the Executive Director, will create policies and guideline all volunteer will follow. The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the recruitment for Social Dog volunteers while the Social Dog Project Manager will work closely with the foster homes and Social Dog Volunteers to make the best match possible for our dogs and while providing a meaningful and productive experience for the volunteer.
The Social Dog Project Manager will be responsible for creating all media information and assuring the program is promoted in a positive manner by using social media, online resources and printed materials and handbooks. The Project Manager will have a high level of visibility and responsibility so a strong commitment and reliability is a must.
The ideal candidate will be someone that has experience working as a volunteer in a shelter or rescue environment or with a variety of dogs. Exceptional communication, interpersonal communication skills and reliability is a must. The weekly time commitment for this position will may be heavy in the beginning as the program is developed but then should be approximately 1 hour per week.
