Dodger
Dodger loves to have FUN and is full of energy. He will keep you laughing as he is very much a clown! He LOVES playing with his old tin can. He is a young dog and will bring you toys to play with. If you give him a Kong with a treat hidden in it he's a goner. He is also always happy to curl up and snuggle by your side and take a nap. We are currently trying to convince him he is not a “lap” dog but he is very cute and persuasive. Dodger is sweet and loving and would do best in a home with an active lifestyle and a buddy his size and age to play with would make his life complete.
Dodger is male approximately 1 yr old forty pound mix breed (Cattle Dog and Collie mix). He was found 8/3/2010 wandering around a grocery store parking lot near I35 and 620 – he was very close to being hit by traffic when someone picked him up. He wasn't altered but seemed in good shape for a stranded dog. He was timid at first (especially of cars since he was likely dumped), but since then he has really come out of his shell. He loves other dogs and children but is very exuberant so would need to learn restraint around very little ones. Dodger is curious about cats but has learned to respect his foster family's cat. He is learning a lot from his foster family brothers (3 canines and 1 feline) and his 2 legged sisters ( ages 4 and 6).
We are working on basic commands and he is very good with “sit” and “stay” for such a young dog. He is very eager to learn more. With a little more training, he would make a great jogging companion. He is micro-chipped, crate trained, and healthy (heart worm negative and current on vaccines). He is handsome and ready for a new home. Please e-mail

Kat
If you want a happy dog that will enjoy long walks, jogs, or just lounging around the house in their PJ's with you, then you are exactly what Kat has been waiting for. Kat is a loveable girl that loves to run and jump over things, play with toys, chase balls, and spend time with her people. An active home would be ideal, but one that will just take her for walks and play with her in the yard would work too. She likes both worlds and can amuse herself playing with toys and chewing on bones.
Now the key thing here with this sweet girl is to have a patient adopter. Initially Kat gets nervous around strangers. She does okay at the vet aside from freezing up, and in a new home it will take a week or so to settle in and trust her people. She opens up to females much quicker. She will occasionally be nervous now and again, but it will subside. This girl is beyond sweet and we hope there is another home out there for her that will give her a chance. She will be current on shots prior to placement and is on heartworm and flea prevention. She's house and crate trained as well, and will come with a crate. If you want to give a special dog a special home then look no further because we have the dog for you!

Mesquite 15 month old Lab mix
Mesquite was enrolled in our service dog program for children. He didn't make the grade, but that doesn't mean he won't make wonderful companion for your family. He is neutered, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventative. He is house/crate trained. Please give me a call if you have any questions or would like to meet them. An adoption fee will apply.

Jade
Her name is Jade! She is about 3-4 yrs old, Red Heeler mix. She has been spayed / micro-chipped, and believe it or not has never had puppies. She is very sweet, and is good around my 2yr old daughter. She loves my schnauzer, and German Shepherd. She is a swimming, running fool! We are having to release her because she's been escaping from my chain link fenced in yard, I even just installed a new privacy fence and she's still escaping. I just can't devote the time to get her some exercise with my new family.
She is up to date on all her vaccinations, she had heartworms but just got the immiticide treatment and should be negative in about 5 months. She has been on Heartgard for 4 months now. Please give her a chance, she's awesome!

Dakota
Dakota, or "Ducky" for short is a beautiful 1 1/2 yr. old female mix breed. She has a shiny auburn coat with white markings on her neck, as well as two white socks. Ducky has piercing topaz eyes. She loves children and thrives on attention. She is a big fan of belly scratching! Going on walks or running around in the back yard are her favorite activities. Although she is primarily an outside dog, once exercised, she loves to lay next to you on the couch or floor and watch a good movie!
We rescued Ducky from an animal shelter when she was 8 weeks old. She's been a joy to our family, but because of several recent events in our family, we need to re-home her with a person or family that has a back yard and can commit time for play and attention. Ducky is an extremely healthy dog with strong muscle definition that weighs her in around 45lbs. She has never had any health issues and is current on all shots and vaccinations as well as heart worm preventative. Ducky was spayed and micro-chipped when she was 4 months old.
Please come meet her and see if she would be the right dog to add to your family!

Francis
I am looking for help with a sweet dog I have been fostering. I am currently over-crowded and would love to find someone to foster/adopt her.
She is a 1 year old rotty/shepherd mix, found roaming the streets of San Antonio. She was thin and hungry when she was found, but now weighs 46 lbs and was recently spayed and vaccinated. She is very sweet, loves to cuddle and is gentle with cats, children and other dogs.
