Shabby Chic is a shy, but amazingly sweet girl. She was sadly surrendered along with two other dogs to the shelter after her owner passed away.  The other two were doing fine in the shelter and soon had people interested in them. But little Shabby was shut down and didn't understand what had happened and why she was there. She was very timid with eveyone who approached her, so the shelter decided that she didn't have a chance of being adopted and they sent out a plea to rescue groups to save her.

Once we brought her home it took all of about 30 minutes for her to relax and begin bonding to her new people! She got a good bath (which she LOVED!) and settled right in with the household. She ignores the resident cat and once she gets to know other dogs, she's sweet and friendly with them.  It just takes her a little bit of time to feel comfortable with them.  She does answer to her name so we didn't change it to cut down on any further confusion for her.

The person that surrendered her noted that she did not do well living with small children so we think it's best that she not go to a home with children under the age of 12.  She's 100% house trained, knows how to use a doggie door and is crate trained as well. She is a wonderful little girl and we look forward to finding a great home for her! We think she would do better in a low-key household, since she is so timid with new people. She would love to spend her days following you around, sitting next to you  on the couch, or under your feet as you work at the computer. She's all about being with "her person" after she gets to know you.  If you have the patience to give her a chance, she could be your new best friend!
